Webasyst: grouping products into variations (SKU)
Instruction for merging duplicate models into one card with variations without losing SKU data, photos, and specifications.
Safe approach: start with a test merge on 2-3 products, then scale up to larger batches.
When to apply merge in variation
- When one model is divided into multiple separate products (color/size/configuration).
- When you need to remove duplicate cards and keep all SKUs on one page.
- When a cleaner directory structure is needed for the client and SEO.
2. Step-by-step process
- Select items that definitely belong to one model.
- Select the main product that will remain as a card.
- Run preview and check warnings.
- Confirm the merge and check the card after the operation.
3. What to check in the preview
- Number of SKUs to be created.
- Transfer of photos and specifications.
- No conflicts between brand and product type.
- Presence of critical fields in all sources.
4. After merge
- Check the display of variations on the product card.
- Ensure that the price/availability of the SKU is correct.
- Save the operation history for team control.
